Team & Sector Capacity Building

In our more than 20 years of leading searches in the mission-driven space, we’ve learned that the sector can’t rely only on consulting services like ours to sustain healthy organizations. We build the capacity of organizations to support effective, people-centered teams and cultures by aligning your people strategy to your vision for impact, and offering tools and resources tailored to your specific needs and goals.

  • Our team is highly sought after for our integration of values into the design, craft, and practices in the hiring process.  However, not every organization can afford search support.  We provide training, process design, and toolkit development for organizations to integrate best practices into their own hiring processes whether they are working with a firm or not.  This service is particularly powerful for funders or network organizations with multiple partner organizations that benefit at scale.

  • Our team brings expertise, critical resources, and just-in-time examples to committee and team training and skill development to mitigate bias in the hiring process.  Mitigating bias training is a standard offering for all of our CEO/ED searches and can be extended or tailored to leadership teams, boards, or hiring managers to improve hiring practices.

  • During times of high flux both in the sector and within an organization we partner with our clients to systematically map and engage leadership in your network to gather critical feedback in support of strategic decision making.  This can be in parallel to or separate from active search and recruitment work.

  • NPAG can support Board-level assessment, development, transition planning, and search to ensure good governance, effective onboarding, top talent, and strong alignment to organizational values, norms, and mission goals.

Leadership Transitions

    • Establish mechanisms to gather staff input, share power, and build healthy engagement through the transition.
